I've always listened to Come On Pilgrim tagged along as the "second half" of Surfer Rosa, so listening to it separately now feels almost like a whole new experience. Caribou sounds much more powerful as a first track then it did as a later track on Surfer Rosa. For an early Pixies song, it sure feels quite majestic and atmospheric with it's use of sleigh bells in the background. The earlier version of Vamos found here is tamer then the later version, especially when comes time for the noise solo, but is as good. Every Pixies fan knows the band have been quite consistent quality-wise throughout their career. There's is not a single miss on Come On Pilgrim (which is basically half of The Purple Tape, the famous demo they recorded before being signed), from the southern flavored, desert-road-tinged Nimrod's Son to my personal favorite I've Been Tired, each song is a testament to the group's originality.
