This rather short album by the Opalio brothers finds them exactly where they left off on The First Flame Of Tomorrow. The track starts with the same rhythmic toy gun blast which can be heard almost throughout. Strange noises and atmospheric guitar effects join in as the song progresses to make this a most cosmic journey. Things eventually become noisier as feedback and white noise thicken the sound. Definitely one of the most accessible and enjoyable albums by MCIAA; the track's foundation might be as minimalist as ever, but there are enough weird guitar acrobatics, bizarre noises and wimpy vocals to keep one's attention throughout. The CD-R (sporting a fake vinyl image) comes housed in a faux-leather mini-LP sleeve with art by Roberto pasted in the middle. |
