Jandek goes rock'n'roll on his sixteenth album. I don't mean "rock" as what is found on albums like The Rocks Crumble or Foreign Keys, which were crazy high octane jams, nor does it sound like the more riff-oriented Follow Your Footsteps, this is "rock" as in Elvis Presley, good ole'-time rock'n'roll... with the Jandek twist to it. Twangy electric guitars and simple solos in blues patterns for the more rocking tracks and gentle strumming on moodier ones... Imagine Jandek trying to sound like Elvis on a heavy acid trip playing for an insane asylum in a Vegas casino lounge from hell! That's my interpretation! Fans of John Frusciante's early drugged-out work should check out When The Telephone Melts as it sounds like it could have been the sole inspiration for both of those albums.
