Delay, delay and even more delay on his twenty-fifth album. What is it with Jandek and delay? Every single track on this CD is drowned in delay! Every plucking and every strumming sounds doubled because of it. At least it makes the songs sound meatier because otherwise, this album is precisely like the one before (Glad To Get Away)... very minimal and very tough to digest. The only thing this album achieves, and this is because of the delay effects, is having an overall psychedelic feel to it. The abrupt ending is also a nice touch, but otherwise, I have a lot of trouble with this one. It is inferior to a lot of what's been put out before. Delay just doesn't do it for me sorry, but that's just me. Jandek can of course do whatever the fuck he wants. He's not out to please anyone. The only reason I pull this one out of the shelf is to admire the cover art... It's the Sasquatch! If only I could grow such funky sideburns.
