Jandek's first album! He originally recorded it under the name The Units making it sound like it was a group effort, but this is obviously the work of one person! This one might include some Jandek "classics", but it remains a very harsh and unwelcoming album. Not a good starting place for people who would like to get a first taste of this man's music. Very atonal playing here. Every song sounds pretty much the same but with different lyrics (exception being European Jewel which actually has a semblance of a riff). I like it, but it's definitely not the one I go back to very often.
