Album Cover

All the high-pitched whispered vocals we're used to has practically disappeared at this point. Jandek's voice has lowered a few notches, but the music is the same as his most recent release Twelfth Apostle with the exception of A Real Number which sounds like accordion (or that could just be the harmonica again!). The instrument comes back later with the guitar on Phillip Was Mentioned. There is no heavy delay effects on this one and the slide-guitar makes it's first appearance (Going Away My Darling). Janky sounds like a fun self-parody which goes to prove that the recluse does have a sense of humor. A lot of single-note plucking on this album. Another difficult one to swallow, but definitely more interesting then Twelfth Apostle. The cover art is also one of my favorites from his discography.
