Somewhere between The Rocks Crumble and Interstellar Discussion comes this album. It includes all the elements that have built up his sound up until now: weird rock attitude, tactless drums, and "Nancy" even makes a welcome return to the mic (Some Of Your Peace! Wow!). It is a great place to start for people who've never heard Jandek's work before. Not that it's an easy listen, but where the earlier albums were at times gloomy, harsh and yes, even boring, this one has the ability to keep you focused on the music throughout. By the time you get to the final duo between Jandek and Nancy on River To Madrid, you'll be able to tell if you're a potential Jandek fan or not. Because if this one doesn't hit home, then none of them will. A must have!
