What!? A Jandek album with actual guitar riffs? Never thought I would see the day. But this is exactly what you get here, making you wonder if all the earlier amateurishness was done on purpose or out of laziness. Let's not get carried away here however, the drums still can't carry a song and any semblance of a "normal" composition is thrown out the window because of it. There's even some guitar "soloing" here and there but it all sounds messy and more often then not, the songs break apart. The acoustic guitar comes back after a long sleep on a few tracks. There seems to be a different singer on Jaws Of Murmur (either that or Jandek's lowered his voice on this song, but a new singer sounds more plausible). Leaving All You Have is one of the trippiest songs he's ever done. A new (and quite interesting) direction for Jandek with this, his thirteenth album.
