Another beautiful album by Fahey. I remember seeing the artwork for this album in a record store and thinking this music must really be psychedelic (I mean look at the colors! Whoa!!!). I was quite surprised to find out it was a folk album and it took further research to realize it did have this experimental, psychedelic vibe to it. This is especially true on The Singing Bridge Of Memphis, Tennessee, an freaky little tune with a fuzz organ melody the will drive you wild! But besides the marching band drums and electric organ of March! For Martin Luther King, the rest of the album is quite traditional, but no less lovely. I found this album in the same store I bought Days Have Gone By, I was so infatuated by it that I tried getting everything I could right there and then... and this was the only other recording the store was holding at the time. They haven't had any more of his albums since then. Sad. |
