An anomaly in one of the world's most anomalous bands, Miljard is the closest thing to new age music as you are likely to hear from Circle. With no cock rock power chord guitar riffs, no motorik repetitive rock patterns, no castrati metal yelps and barely a pinch of psychedelic insanity to be found anywhere, you could easily have mistaken this for a twisted new Richard Clayderman record. Just give it a few listens though and eventually it's darker secrets will reveal themselves. Opening Parmalee, sounds like a fucked up reworking of the "design mode" theme music in The Sims computer game. At it's darkest (and most of it is!), the album has a distinct Labradford vibe which is certain to please fans of this band. Check out Bakkis or Duunila to compare. If only Circle could always sound like they do here, I'd buy every single new release they'd put out. In fact, simply for it's uniqueness, Miljard has gone on to be my favorite Circle record.
